Employment Specialist/ Case Manager

Full Time | Maple Street Shelter – Redwood City, CA

The Housing & Employment Department is currently seeking an experienced, motivated and team oriented Employment Specialist. This Employment Specialist will be dedicated to working with our Maple Street Shelter clients, located in Redwood City for 6 months. After the 6 months, this role may transition to a full time Case Manager position depending on the needs of the Maple Street site and staff. Maple Street provides emergency and transitional housing to adults working towards overcoming homelessness and diagnosed mental illness.  Under the supervision of the Manager of Employment Services, the Employment Specialist acts as a strong support system for clients in their employment search. The goal of the Employment Specialist is to assist clients to successfully secure stable employment that ultimately leads to stable housing and self-sufficiency. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing individual employment plans for a caseload of clients, working collaboratively with the clients’ primary case manager, as well as assisting the Manager of Employment Services with other program tasks.

Re-Entry Employment Specialist

Full Time | Corporate Headquarters – Menlo Park, CA

The Re-Entry Employment Specialist works with LifeMoves clients from our emergency and transitional programs who have been involved with the criminal justice system—specifically those who have been incarcerated in a California State Prison at any point in their life—to increase employment opportunities. The Re-Entry Employment Specialist will conduct outreach in the community to build relationships with employers, and other community partners already serving the Re-Entry population. The Re-Entry Employment Specialist will provide 1:1 counseling/meetings with clients revolving around employment, resumes, cover letters, job search, professional development and interview skills. The Re-Entry Specialist will also be responsible for facilitating educational workshops, collaborating with a client’s primary case manager and providing weekly employment leads. The position requires the candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of successfully employing our LifeMoves clients to achieve permanent housing. This position requires knowledge of Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas), employment agencies, vocational entities, and a strong understanding of the needs of the Re-Entry population.

Re-Entry Housing Specialist

The Re-Entry Housing Specialist works with LifeMoves clients from our emergency and transitional programs who have been involved with the criminal justice system to increase housing opportunities. The position requires the candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of increasing housing opportunities for the agency’s re-entry community and placing program participants in housing that suits their needs by increasing our expertise in this area. This position requires knowledge of Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas) housing market trends, fair housing, landlord/tenant rights, and a strong understanding of the leasing process, an understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of the Re-Entry population; and collaborating regularly with participants’ case manager.
