The Re-Entry Employment Specialist works with LifeMoves clients from our emergency and transitional programs who have been involved with the criminal justice system—specifically those who have been incarcerated in a California State Prison at any point in their life—to increase employment opportunities. The Re-Entry Employment Specialist will conduct outreach in the community to build relationships with employers, and other community partners already serving the Re-Entry population. The Re-Entry Employment Specialist will provide 1:1 counseling/meetings with clients revolving around employment, resumes, cover letters, job search, professional development and interview skills. The Re-Entry Specialist will also be responsible for facilitating educational workshops, collaborating with a client’s primary case manager and providing weekly employment leads. The position requires the candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of successfully employing our LifeMoves clients to achieve permanent housing. This position requires knowledge of Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas), employment agencies, vocational entities, and a strong understanding of the needs of the Re-Entry population.
