The Re-Entry Housing Specialist works with LifeMoves clients from our emergency and transitional programs who have been involved with the criminal justice system—specifically those who have been incarcerated in a California State Prison at any point in their life—to increase housing opportunities. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will conduct outreach in the community to build relationships with landlords, and other community partners already serving the Re-Entry population. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will provide 1:1 counseling/meetings with clients revolving around housing, credit, housing search, housing portfolios, and budgeting. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will also be responsible for facilitating educational workshops, collaborating with a client’s primary case manager and providing weekly housing leads. The position requires the candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of successfully employing our LifeMoves clients to achieve permanent housing. This position requires knowledge of San Mateo and Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas), housing agencies, vocational entities, and a strong understanding of the needs of the Re-Entry population.
