Re-Entry Housing Specialist

Full Time | Menlo Park, CA

The Re-Entry Housing Specialist works with LifeMoves clients from our emergency and transitional programs who have been involved with the criminal justice system—specifically those who have been incarcerated in a California State Prison at any point in their life—to increase housing opportunities. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will conduct outreach in the community to build relationships with landlords, and other community partners already serving the Re-Entry population. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will provide 1:1 counseling/meetings with clients revolving around housing, credit, housing search, housing portfolios, and budgeting. The Re-Entry Housing Specialist will also be responsible for facilitating educational workshops, collaborating with a client’s primary case manager and providing weekly housing leads. The position requires the candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of successfully employing our LifeMoves clients to achieve permanent housing. This position requires knowledge of San Mateo and Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas), housing agencies, vocational entities, and a strong understanding of the needs of the Re-Entry population.

Eligibility/Housing Specialist

Full Time | Menlo Park, CA

The Eligibility/Housing Specialist will work with individuals experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County to provide eligibility determination, and enrollment assistance for benefits including Social Security Disability, Covered California, and Medi-Cal. The Eligibility/Housing Specialist will also train other employees and volunteers to help clients with benefit eligibility.  The Eligibility/Housing Specialist  will work with landlords to help individuals throughout our San Mateo and Santa Clara county shelters to successfully transition to permanent housing. The Eligibility/Housing Specialist  will conduct outreach in the community to build relationships with landlords and provide housing search education in the form of 1:1 counseling, facilitating educational workshops, providing landlord/tenant mediation. The position requires candidate to work independently, and collaboratively as a team with the ultimate goal of increasing housing opportunities for the agency and placing program participants in housing that suits their needs. This position requires knowledge of San Mateo and Santa Clara County (and surrounding areas) housing market trends, fair housing, landlord/tenant rights, and a strong understanding of the leasing process.

Bi-lingual Family Education Support Specialist

LifeMoves is seeking a highly motivated Family Education Specialist to facilitate and coordinate parenting and children’s programming in our shelters and for our programs.  Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Education Specialist will provide in-person parenting, wellness, and educational support workshops and resources for LifeMoves parents/caregivers and children. Their responsibilities include researching, developing and implementing programs and classes for clients, collecting and organizing data for reporting purposes, working with the Education team to coordinate and supervise children’s summer programs, and providing reports to the Director and Educational Initiatives Manager.

Courtyard Case Manager | OSC Drop-In Center

LifeMoves | Opportunity Services Center is seeking an experienced Case Manager to work in a day drop in center setting providing case management, outreach services, and mostly engagement services to unsheltered homeless people residing in homeless encampments and other places not meant for human habitation. The successful Case Manager will utilize a multidisciplinary approach to engage the hardest to serve homeless in an effort to connect them to services within the drop in center and community at large, and ultimately help them find housing. The primary responsibilities will center on engaging the most difficult clients in the courtyard. These are clients who refuse to engage in any meaningful case management services either as a result of severe mental illness or addiction.

LifeMoves | Coastside Half Moon Bay provides interim shelter and services to single adults and families experiencing homelessness in San Mateo County. The Program Aide is responsible for ensuring the facility and community spaces are well kept and functioning.
