At LifeMoves, we believe in meeting people where they are—the streets, next to a freeway exit, at their vehicle, a public transit stop. Over the past year, San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and BART Millbrae Station have seen a significant rise in individuals experiencing homelessness, with weekly counts nearly doubling. This increase reflects a broader displacement trend as encampments are cleared from downtown neighborhoods.
In response, SFO and the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors have partnered with LifeMoves through a $1.5 million, three-year agreement to expand outreach at the airport. Beginning later this year, our team will be on-site five days a week, providing food, clothing, transportation, and access to shelter and critical care. We’re committed to bringing dignity, compassion, and connection to those facing the hardest circumstances— ensuring that no one is invisible, and hope is always within reach.
