REDWOOD CITY, CA — The LifeMoves Navigation Center in Redwood City recently marked the one-year anniversary of its on-site dental clinic, the first permanent clinic of its kind integrated into a homeless services center in San Mateo County. The clinic, funded by the county and operated by the University of the Pacific Dental School, provides both preventative and emergency care for residents of the 240-room facility, which serves previously unhoused individuals with wraparound services such as case management, addiction recovery, and general health care.
The LifeMoves Navigation Center has 240 rooms for previously homeless individuals, but also offers a plethora of wraparound services, like case management, addiction treatment and general health care in one place. The program addresses one of the most persistent barriers to care among the unhoused—access and follow-through for dental treatment.
