When Passion Meets Purpose: Turning a Career in Housing into a Life of Impact | LifeMoves Skip to main content

Dedicating part of her early career to designing affordable and special-needs housing. That work grounded her in a deep commitment to equity, access, and dignity in housing— values that have stayed with her throughout her life.

In retirement, Patricia has channeled her experience and passion into advocacy, philanthropy, and hands-on service. She is now an active advocate, donor for over 20 years who now is a member of our Impact Circle, and volunteer with LifeMoves, where her long-standing commitment to housing stability continues to make an impact. After touring the Navigation Center and seeing its work firsthand, Patricia was inspired to deepen her involvement and joined the Support Committee for Haven Family House, further extending her dedication to supporting families in need.

Patricia values her role on the Support Committee, a volunteer group that assists staff in various ways depending on location, such as helping in the coordination of events or organizing food and clothing closets so staff can easily access and share essential items with families.

“ I love to share stories of my experiences at LifeMoves with others, for I truly believe that growing the understanding and compassion of friends and neighbors will eventually lead to systemic change that supports stable and dignified housing for all.” – Patricia
