The Change You Create

“A client came to the Opportunity Services Center after fleeing stalking in Alameda County. Over the past six months, we’ve worked alongside them to rebuild trust in the homeless services system and navigate the complex process of securing safe, stable housing. We first connected them to a women’s shelter while facilitating the transfer of their voucher to Santa Clara County. From there, we identified a housing opportunity near security cameras, where they now feel safe and secure. Today, they are moving off the streets into permanent housing. Despite their shaken trust in the system, their resilience, self-advocacy, and the support of an active, caring community have helped restore their faith in their peers and in the possibility of a fresh start."

At LifeMoves, our Outreach teams practice what we call “Radical Hospitality.” We begin by meeting each person where they are, listening to their needs without judgment, and responding with compassion and practical support.
